Canadian Aircraft Carriers - HMCS Magnificent (CVL 21) was a light aircraft carrier in service with the Royal Canadian Navy from 1948–1957. Originally commissioned by the Royal Navy during the Second World War, Magnificent was purchased by the Royal Canadian Navy and entered service in 1948 to meet their needs, replacing HMCS Warrior, which had been taken over by the RN for two years.
